I have been a school governor at Larchfield School for more than 30 years, having previously been a governor in the London Borough of Ealing and another Maidenhead school.
I currently sit as the Chair of the Resources Committee, which is responsible for monitoring the finances, trying to ensure that the money is spent in the best way to ensure that the children have the opportunity to achieve the best outcome. Being a governor helps me to support the staff, and more importantly, all the children. During my years at Larchfield, I have been on various Committees, and I am currently on the the Performance and Pay Panel in addition to the Resources Committee. I am also the Health and Safety governor.
I assist from time to time with school outings, which gives me the opportunity to see the children enjoying themselves, and learning, away from the school environment. I am now retired, but was previously a Chartered Surveyor, working in the telecoms industry.
