I live near the school which my son attended from 2012 to 2020. Both my wife and I have supported the PTA, and before the pandemic struck, I volunteered at the school, mainly in Year 6.
I am a qualified psychologist and worked in the public sector on academic research, developing new teaching methods, and on clinical work, investigating depression, anxiety and phobias. Later I moved into the private sector, working for a management consultancy specialising in behavioural science and information technology. I became the Managing Director of the company, with a workforce of about 150 professionals.
In 1998 I set up my own business working as an independent consultant specialising in change management, business transformation, and programme management, in both the public and private sectors. This ran successfully until I retired. I now work as a house husband and a Foster Carer.
