Please be advised that following the rise in COVID cases and advice from RBWM, the school risk assessment for COVID has been updated and is available in the COVID-19 section of the website.
Please don't forget that children return to school on Friday 3rd September. An INSET day has been moved from 17th December 2021, further details can be found in your recent letter sent out today and revised term dates have been issued.
Return to school on Monday 8th March (as per my email to all families)
This is a summary of what you need to know, apologies for the directness and final changes!
Unless you have documentation that you do not need to, please note face coverings must be worn if you are to enter either the car park or playground gate.
Please be prepared that if you are not wearing one then we will bring your child to the gate. We
do not do this for any other reason but to save the lives of our staff, children and
families.
Please note school staff are nowhere on the vaccination list ahead of anyone else and so whether you have had the virus or had the vaccination we would appreciate your support.
Where do we drop children off?
**Please do not arrive too early as this could cause crossing of bubbles.
Where do we pick them up from?
Parents will not be allowed to access the building and should keep 2M apart whilst waiting.
What should they bring to school?
Will there be clubs and other things going on?
Will there be hot lunches?
Yes, please encourage your children to have a hot lunch
Break time snack must only be fresh fruit or veg, please do not send in anything else
If we keep to the guidance and rules then we will continue to stay safe and things will get back to normal.
Please talk with your child about coming back to school and the routines in place. We have sent you something called a social story which will help them to prepare for coming back to school.
All risk assessments are on the website if you would like to see them in more detail.
Please help us to keep to this and we can be more flexible after Easter!
FREE SCHOOL MEAL VOUCHERS
There has been a delay in getting the FSM vouchers out to our FSM families - there has been a technical issue with our system and we are working hard to resolve this.
Please be assured that as soon as they are available we get them out to you.
As at 20.01.2021
Please note that the weekly £15 supermarket vouchers should be available by the end of this week for the period 18th January 2021 - 12th February 2021.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Well what a 24 hours!!
I would just like to briefly update you on where we are with regard to school. I know we have been sending lots out today so thank for your patience, as you can appreciate the minute you heard the Prime Minister’s announcement, it was the first we had also heard!
Anyway, as I said earlier the intention this week is for children to access the following platforms:
School will be available for key workers children and vulnerable children only. This must be requested and in advance, you will have confirmation that your child can be accommodated so please do not send your child in unless you hear from us to confirm. Breakfast club will be available for those in school and can be booked in the usual way using Scopay. Can I please ask that you only request a place if you really need it. WE MUST KEEP AS MANY STAFF AND CHILDREN AS SAFE AS WE CAN!
We will be communicating regularly with your child at least once a week via phone call, this will be the class teacher and if there are additional needs either Mrs Scawn or Mrs Baker will also touch base too.
On Thursday I will email a detailed plan of what remote learning will look like for your child. It will be different from last time as we are required to deliver a different approach to ensure children get the feedback following learning. You will need to be prepared to attach evidence of your child’s learning daily at the end of the day to the asktheteacher email. More about this on Thursday.
I have been so proud of how the majority of parents have been supportive towards us at this very challenging time. Everything we do is to help and support our families and it is great to hear that you know that. I am also so proud of my staff, the vast majority of staff have returned today to get stuck in to sorting learning for our children. Although our packs will not be the same as last time, I still want to make sure the children have the equipment they need for next week and so we have put together packs of exercise books and stationery so that they can complete the learning. You will need to have 1 person only pick this up on Thursday between 9 and 3pm. We will not be providing the reading books as last time as we pay for the Bug Club subscription.
I think that may be it for the moment, but do keep an eye out for more communications.
I realise this is a worrying time for many of us, but we are here to help if we can and remember we are human and often parents too so please be kind to us! J
Take care
Mrs Kearney J
