18.7.19 It might be close to the end of term, but we are still learning and having fun doing so. All Stars Coaching came to Larchfield School today and showed Year 4 how to play a new style of cricket. Thank you Jamie!

3.7.19 Maths has been fun today! The class has been investigating what type of answers you get when you multiply odd and even numbers. They extended this to see what happens when you add, subtract and divide too! Great work Year 4.

27.6.19 In Science today the children have been having some fantastic discussions about living organisms and items that were once living organisms. Are cut flowers dead or alive? The children were amazed to find cotton was a plant. After the children looked inside the class, they went outside and found items that were once living organisms.

20.06.19 Year 4 have been having great fun in Sri Lanka (Year 1) today. They filled in their passports and made some great clay elephants.

17.6.19 It's the first day of International week. The children have their passports and have spent time in Singapore today tasting different foods and making Merlions.

11.6.19 Year 4 teaching Year 3 how to programme using Scratch to make a sprite move and to add sound.

11.6.19 Lots of practical Maths - folding and using mirrors to find lines of symmetry.

11.6.19 The children were role playing fact or opinion scenarios in English today. Jack took some super photos!

7.6.19 The class had great fun using an energy stick which showed how electricity will only flow if there is a complete circuit.

23.5.19 Today we have been investigating shapes. The children were able to prove that the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees by cutting off the angles and rejoining them to make a straight line. They went on to prove that the angles in all 2D shapes, with more than 3 sides, will add up to 360 degrees. We also went outside and investigated different Maths terms - finding them around us.

21.5.19 After a week of assessments, the children have been enjoying their cold task of writing poetry. They listened to 'The Tyger' by William Blake as a stimulus - and will base their poem on an animal found in India.

8.5.19 We have been carrying out an investigation using money - something we don't see much of today as most people use cards to pay with! This was a great exercise - the children began working systematically and worked out how many bronze coin combinations make 10p, then silver coins making 50p- then £1.

7.5.19 The children have been using data which they created to make charts in IT. They are becoming more familiar with Excel.The children have informed me that they enjoyed their learning!

3.5.19 Year 4 have had a busy week learning how to interpret data. Here they were visualising their Maths. They used a tally chart to collect their data then made a human bar chart.

4.4.19  Year 4 wowed their parents with their production of The Tudor Rose today.  Year 3 were amazing in their role of supporting us with their singing.  A big THANK YOU to you all for your support today and for helping your children learn their lines.  Photos will be coming soon!
