Trip to Eton College
We had a truly incredible trip to Eton College on Monday 5th November.
This term, we are studying Christianity so we visited Eton College Chapel and explored the beautiful stained glass windows, read the hymn books and discovered about the place of worship at this remarkable school.
In Science, our new topic is Rocks and Fossils and we had the amazing opportunity to visit Eton's Natural History Museum. Some of the students of Eton taught us about how fossils are formed, and took us on a Fossil Hunt around the Museum. We also discovered a real fossil of an Ichthyosaur, a giant marine reptile, and pieced it together from our very own mini archaelogical dig.
Thank you very much to the students and teachers from Eton College who gave us an experience we will all remember forever.
On Wednesday 19th September, we had a wonderful Road Safety Talk by Imogen from RBWM. The children learnt the valuable skills of the Green Cross Code – think, stop, look and listen, wait, look and listen again, arrive alive. To encourage them to use it, yesterday we sent home a booklet for them to work through with lots of interesting activities to complete and those who complete it will receive a certificate. They also received a high-visibility bag to wear - be safe, be seen!
We would like to present the children with certificates to say they have completed this learning on Tuesday 30th October to celebrate their achievements. This seems like a long way off but the booklets have lots of activities and I am sure you will agree, the weeks speed by!
Therefore please could you ensure your child completes their Road Safety Booklet and returns it to school by no later than Monday 29th October. Please do not fill in the certificate at the back of the book as this is for school to complete.
