5.7.19 What a super Games Day! Year 4 enjoyed the games and did their best with their running too. Well done all of you!

1.7.19 Years 3 and 4 went to Maidenhead library today to meet author Steven Cole. They walked down towards town so sensibly and hung off every word the author said. Look at their faces - clear enjoyment. Please ask your child about the books that have been written by Steve Cole...and what he used to write too. You will be amazed and impressed!

19.6.19 We were so lucky to have the Irie steel-pan workshop in today as part of our International week. The children have been playing tunes on the steel-pans and dancing in the Ska Jamaican style. I was really proud of the class for asking such interesting questions today. Please ask them what they found out today!Please go on their website where you can find out a lot about steel-pan drums.

18.6.19 The children visited Brazil where they made some carnival masks in Year 2 and round house in South Africa in Year 3.

30.4.19 Today 10 Year 4 children represented Larchfield School at Winter Hill Golf Club in a golf skills tournament. Eight schools in the borough took part. Year 4, brought back bronze medals. An amazing feat - this is our first time in the tournament. Well done indeed!

5.4.19 Easter bonnets were made and worn with pride. I was astounded by the creativity! Well done to all of you.

4.4.19 The Tudor Rose...A year 3 and 4 production. Well done to all of Year 4 for their fabulous acting and to Year 3 for supporting by singing so well.

15.3.19 Red Nose Day! Thank you for all of your donations.

13.3.19 RBWM Road Safety Officer, Imogen Leonard gave a very interesting and interactive talk to Year 4 today. The class learnt that a child has to be over 135 cm tall in order to not use a booster seat. However, car seats are made for people over over 150cm, so some booster seats might be a good idea! They learnt about about the Green Cross Code and the benefit of wearing a helmet when riding a bicycle. A big thank you to Imogen - the children enjoyed their learning.

8.3.19 We have read 4 of Terry Deary's books on the Tudors. The children have come as a character from his books. Don't they look fabulous!

6.3.19 Tele read the class an Aesop's fable in Greek today, while the children followed the story in English. Thank you Tele - you really are a star.

6.3.19 Today we listened to an inspirational author, Debi Evans, who told us how she began writing. Signed and paw printed books are available from www.debievans.com by post.

4.3.19 To kick of Book Week, Leysa Henderson - Author of the popular book, 'Lost Lives', came into Larchfield to give us dramatic warnings about our future planet - if we don't look after it.

5.3.19 Miss Maria very kindly came in to tell us about a story about a Greek tale. She translated it into English for us.

5.3.19 Book Week! Today we had a teacher swap for 30 minutes. Year 4 listened to Mrs Johnson reading them a short story called 'Spaghetti Pig-Out' by Paul Jennings. They enjoyed it so much, Mrs. Johnson will be reading another story by Paul Jennings on Thursday!

27.2.19 What a glorious day for a walk into Maidenhead today. Year 4 had a great opportunity to join year 6 on a trip to Maidenhead Library to listen to Piers Torday, a children's author. His books are in the Maidenhead library for you to purchase if you wish.

14.2.19 We were very lucky to have a dance workshop with Ellen Tritton today. The children performed an Egyptian dance - complete with their 'salsa' hips! Well done again Year 4.

13.2.19 Dance Festival Day at the Magnet. This photo was taken just before we got on the coach this morning. Thanks to Mrs. Lamont-Arthur, the children had stunning satin costumes. Not only did the children look amazing, they gave a polished performance too. They were fabulous - definitely a 10 on Strictly! Well done Year 4, you have made us all so proud of you.

A letter regarding our Dance Festival, which will be taking place on Wednesday 13th February 2019, has been sent home with your child. Please book your tickets as soon as possible to ensure you get them. .

22.11.18 What a fantastic, artistic morning we have had. Benedict Romain, a sculptor from Norden Farm, came into Larchfield this morning and did an amazing workshop with Year 4. Thank you Ben!

13.11.18 Alex Lawson from the RBWM Youth Service came in today and delivered an excellent PSHCE lesson on relationships to Year 4. The children participated extremely well and could all say what a good relationship should look like.
